Rev. Dr. Richard G. Hutcheson Memorial Service, January 19, 2012

The Rev. Dr. Richard Gordon Hutcheson Jr., Pastor Emeritus, died on Sunday, January 15, 2012.  Dick served Vienna Presbyterian Church as senior pastor from 1981 to 1986.  A funeral service and reception was held at VPC on Thursday, January 19, to "celebrate his life and bear witness to the confidence we share in his resurrection to eternal life."

As Senior Pastor Peter James further said in a letter to the congregation: "Most of you have joined our fellowship since 1986 and did not have the pleasure of knowing Dick in his pastoral role.  Dick served as a mentor and colleague in the early days of my ministry.  He also made the privilege of sharing a co-pastoral ministry possible for me as a young associate pastor.  If it were not for the sovereign grace of God and Dick Hutcheson, it would not have been possible for me to serve in the role I am now.  Dick was a valued friend, pastor and wise counselor to our entire church family."

The service was broadcast live over the internet, and you may now listen to an audio recording of the service.  You may also view the memorial service program.
