Rico Tice, a former Hewlett-Packard executive and native Chilean, has served on the staff of All Souls Church in London, England, since 1994. He is the author of Christianity Explored and his focus at All Souls is to help the hundreds of enquirers about the Christian faith who come through the doors of the church each year. "Career Networking Night" focused on those who are in job transition, and those who want to help folks in job transition. This unique event featured an inspirational speaker, networking opportunities and a resource fair. Our guest speaker was Steve Bernhardt, who is a successful mortgage lender in the Vienna/Tysons area. In 1988 the Bernhardt’s were involved in a tragic automobile accident which killed both of their young children. That day, Steve and Cathi’s lives were ripped apart and dramatically changed forever. At the dinner, Steve shared the story of his loss and described some of the spiritual principles that have enabled him and Cathi to overcome
despair, fear and worry.

"Career Networking Night" focused on those who are in job transition, and those who want to help folks in job transition. This unique event featured an inspirational speaker, networking opportunities and a resource fair. Our guest speaker was Doris E. McMillon, President of McMillon Communications. She is a veteran journalist, newscaster, producer, and movie star whose work includes posts at NBC News, WABC-TV, Fox Television, WJLA-TV and the U.S. Information Agency’s WORLDNET. A unique blend of knowledge, experience and talent, Ms. McMillon brings unequaled qualifications in broadcast journalism, publishing and government to her assignments.

The Family Career Night included dinner, an inspirational presentation by Spencer Brand, networking opportunities and a resource fair. Spencer Brand is the Founder and President of the Endowment for Community Leadership, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing leadership and financial resources in the minority communities of America. Prior to founding the Endowment, Spencer held senior positions at the Departments of Labor and Interior in Washington, D.C. Spencer has also been a private and public consultant for over 25 years, serving the business and professional communities in the areas of success, interpersonal relationships and spiritual growth.
Valentine's Couples Dinner (Feb 14, 2009)
The Valentine Day Couples Dinner was held at VPC on Saturday, February 14, 2009. Approximately 170 people attended the dinner and presentation which was held in the Great Hall.

Spencer Brand is the Founder and President of the Endowment for Community Leadership, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing leadership and financial resources in the minority communities of America. Prior to founding the Endowment, Spencer held senior positions at the Department of Labor and Interior in Washington, DC. Spencer and Barbara have also been private and public consultants for over 25 years, serving the business and professional communities in the areas of success, interpersonal relationships and ethics. For the last 16 years Barbara has had to limit her speaking and consulting due to multiple sclerosis. The Brands have been married for 32 years and have four children.
