Quilting and Knitting

VPC Quilters

The VPC Quilters are known as the Piecemakers.  In the past we have donated quilts to the Presbyterian Home of the Highlands, VPC Nursery, the Linus project, and the Renaissance Pediatric Center at Iliff Nursing Home.  We average about 10 quilters at each "bee", and can always use more workers and more fabric (primary colored cotton) donations.

We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays from 1:00 - 3:00 pm in room 308.   A sub-group, called the Applique Party, meets the 3rd Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 in room 308.  Both groups welcome new members.  The skill levels are from beginner to advanced; we learn from each other and happily share quilting techniques and ideas.

Won't you join us in our ministry?  Come gather with the Piecemakers!  For more information contact June Vogan at

Historically speaking...

The quilt to the left was made by a team of dedicated individuals for the 125th anniversary of the founding of Vienna Presbyterian Church.  This is one of the most significant accomplishments of the Quilters Guild at VPC.  Read a detailed story of the history and meaning of this anniversary quilt (from the VPC History pages).

VPC Knitters

The VPC Knitters meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 10:30 am in the Gathering Place off the Great Hall.  They welcome newcomers and learners.

One of the Knitters major projects is prayer shawls, which are simple and a wonderful beginning project for new knitters.  As the needles move, the knitter prays for the person who will receive the shawl, whether or not the person is known at the time.

Experienced or beginner, it doesn't matter.  Please come join us.
