Sermon-Based Study Groups
Sermon-based Study Groups often follow curriculum written by the church that partners with the current sermon series seeking to apply God's truths to real life. These study groups often form around a geographic area and/or by affinity (common age, stage, or interests). Those involved, share the journey with God by studying his word together; share the journey with each other as they listen, care, and pray for one another; and share the journey beyond their group by inviting others along and finding ways to serve together.

Currently Planned Curriculum
The currently planned curriculum developed by the church that many small groups will follow is described below:
Summer 2010: Corporate and Outward Best Spiritual Practice
Join us this summer as we explore our outward and corporate "Best Spiritual Practices." We do have some summer groups available that will incorporate our daily devotionals (see www.viennapres.org/devotionals) as well as a service project. The spiritual disciplines this summer include celebration, worship, mentoring and discipling, justice, simplicity, hospitality, care of the earth, witnessing, compassion and ends with our Labor 4 Your Neighbor on Labor Day! We hope that you will consider joining a small group to discuss and practice those disciplines or gather your family or friends to discuss how you can practice these disciplines as a group!
Complete and submit the form below to join a small group. If you have any questions you may contact Shannon Jordan at shannon.jordan@viennapres.org or 703-938-9050 x123.
Fall 2010: "The Me I Want To Be:
Join VPC this fall as we discover what kind of disciple or Christ-follower God created each of us to be! God created each of us with unique strengths and weaknesses. We each also have different paths that draw us closer to God and distractions that lead us away from God. God created you to be the best YOU! Find out what that is as we combine daily scripture readings, study opportunities at church, sermons and John Ortberg’s book “The Me I Want to Be.”
Because the material covered in this study is so critical and fundamental to our mission at VPC, and the small groups are a key path for opening group members to the transforming power of God, we would like for the small group leaders, or others from each group, to attend one of three small group leader training sessions. Read more about this fall series and the leader training sessions, and register your group to insure you receive appropriate materials.
