We invite you to join Peter James on a VPC pilgrimage to Germany with the unique opportunity to see a performance of the famous Oberammergau Passion Play that is presented to the world only once every ten years.  2010 marks the 41st presentation season of this special event.  The Passion of Jesus unfolds before your eyes, beginning with the entry into Jerusalem and ending with the Resurrection and the Ascension.  A play of life and death, promised in a moment of mortal threat - so began the history of the Oberammergau Passion Play in 1633.  In the middle of the Thirty Years War, after months of suffering and death from the plague, the Oberammergau villagers swore an oath that they would perform the "Play of the Suffering, Death and Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ" every ten years.  On Pentecost 1634, they fulfilled their pledge for the first time, on a stage they put up in the cemetery above the fresh graves of the plague victims.  Please note that the Passion Play is presented in German.  Each guest is provided with a book that contains the complete dialog in both English and German.

Additionally, we will see some of the most beautiful places in Germany; that are rich in Reformation history, indescribable scenery and glorious architecture.  Best of all, we will do this together with VPC friends and family.

The cost is $3850.00 per person sharing a double room and deposits are accepted on a first come first served basis for the remaining spaces.
