Volunteer Opportunities
Bridgepoint (Outreach) Help Needed
Bridgepoint Ministries is the name of the outreach effort at VPC. Currently we have opportunities for volunteers to help with the following programs and events:
- Job Transition Support Group, Wednesday mornings
- The Great Steak Out
- Church Street Stroll
If you are interested in providing support or would like more information about these opportunities, please contact Phil Kratovil at phil.kratovil(at)viennapres.org.
Library Assistants
Volunteers are needed to cover the Perkins Memorial Library and Resource Center on the second floor main hallway on Sunday mornings from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. You will be trained on what is involved. If interested, contact George Marling at 703-281-2025 or gmarling@cox.net.
New Member Ministry Team
This group plans and implements three new member seminars each year. Areas of service include making and setting up coffee and cookies for receptions, working with custodial staff to set up rooms, inviting ministry leaders to speak or represent their ministries at the marketplace, pulling together information notebooks for the seminar attendees, photographing the class members, serving as a small group leader, etc. This group has strong leadership but is looking for team members that are interested in welcoming and "equipping" our new members. Contact Shannon Jordan at 703-938-9050 x123 or shannon.jordan@viennapres.org.
Neighbor-2-Neighbor Ministry
Neighbor-2-Neighbor Ministry provides our community with the opportunity to bond around providing home repair assistance to families and neighbors in times of need. Service opportunities include low-skill level projects such as lawn mowing, raking, edging, mulching, simple carpentry or home repair projects. This is a great opportunity to get connected with the VPC community.
