Caring for our members, neighbors and friends is a vital ministry of Vienna Presbyterian Church. Galatians 6:2 says “Bear one another’s burdens, for in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” We seek to come alongside those who are experiencing challenging circumstances through a health crisis, a death of a loved one, or other life issues, in an effort to help make God’s love and care evident in the midst of even the toughest situations.
Our prayer ministry provides the vital element of reaching out to God in every care situation; however, we put the "hands and feet" on our prayers with support offered by a wide variety of ministries. Our Deacons provide care through a meal ministry, short-term help around the house, visitation, a variety of support groups, and can often point to helpful community resources. The Stephen Ministers are committed to individually being with those in crisis. One of their mottos is “When the casseroles are gone, the Stephen Ministers are still there.” Additionally, we have support groups for those experiencing grief, divorce or separation, addictions and cancer.
If you experiencing a challenging situation and are unsure of where to turn, call the VPC office at 703-938-9050 and we will be glad to help match you with appropriate help.
