Sexual abuse touched our community five years ago and NewSpring’s mission is to educate and raise awareness. Please join us to gain insight and direction for appropriate care for those struggling with the issue of abuse.
- Seminar for Clergy, Spiritual Directors, Church Staff and Leadership Volunteers presented by Sallie Culbreth, Founder and Director of Committed to Freedom Ministries and a sexual abuse survivor.
- Saturday, October 16, 2010, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm, at VPC (see directions); continental breakfast and lunch provided.
- Five hours of training including a live presentation and workbooks.
- Topics related to the caregiver: helping in ways that do not hurt; developing safe environments for children and youth; responsible policies when a sex offender wishes to participate in your congregation.
- Topics relating to the victim: definitions and damage of abuse; memory, healing and forgiveness.
- Cost: $15.00 per person - includes materials, breakfast and lunch.
