Children's Music Ministries

All children are welcomed to join the voice choirs any time between September and June; auditions are not required.  Director approval is required for children (grades 4-6) to join the handbell choir.

Registration forms and proposed rehearsal and performance schedules are available.

Children's Voice Choirs

The Cherub Choir is for children in the 3's and 4's 9:30 and 11:00 am Sunday School classes.  It meets for 15 minutes on many, but not all, Sundays, September through early June, in the Sunday School room for that age group (Room 118).  They sing during worship occasionally throughout the year, as well as perform at the Christmas and spring children’s choirs concerts.  The children praise God and minister to others through singing.  They focus on Bible stories and participate in listening and rhythmic activities.  Registration is not required.  For more information contact Daryl Wright at 703-938-9050.

The Joyful Noise Choir is for children in grades K-1 and meets in the room 321 on most Sundays from 5:30-6:30 pm, September through early June.  The children praise God and minister to others through singing.  They also participate in listening and rhythmic activities.  The Joyful Noise choir sings in worship occasionally and performs twice annually in the children’s choir concerts.  Registration is required.  For more information contact Tess Ottinger at tessottinger@cox.net.

The Carol Choir is for children in grades 2-3, and meets in Room 308 on Sundays from 5:30-6:30 pm, September through early June.  The children praise God and minister to others through singing and by focusing on Bible verses and stories.  They also participate in listening and rhythmic activities.  The Carol Choir sings in worship occasionally and performs twice annually in the children’s choir concerts.  Registration is required.  For more information contact Amy Lochhaas at 703-851-5066, or amy.p.lochhaas@gmail.com.

The Junior Choir is for children in grades 4-6, and meets in Room 317 on Sundays from 5:30-6:30 pm, September through early June.  The children sing praise and worship songs, hymns of the church and anthems.  They continue to explore Bible themes through word and song, develop melodic skills, and are introduced to harmony and more rhythmically challenging music.  In addition, this choir periodically sings in worship and participates in several special music ministry performances throughout the year.  Registration is required.  For more information contact Catherine Dehoney at 703-938-2053, or email her at catherine.dehoney@verizon.net.

Children's Handbell Choir
