We are excited to have your family join us for Worship each week. Our Sunday morning programs offer parents and children the choice of how to worship.
Before parents head for the Sanctuary they can drop off their children at age/grade level classes from young 3s through 6th grade.
Preschool-age classes include creatively-told Bible stories that help our children understand basic Biblical truths and how to apply them to their lives, with games and crafts to reinforce the teaching. These classes also include lively 'kid-style' worship.
Children K-4th grade will participate in our Power Up! Sunday School classes, which use 2:52 Basics curriculum, including small groups so children can really get to know each other, and large group worship with creative and transformational teaching.
5th and 6th graders have their own Sunday School class including Bible teaching, discussion and other engaging activities.
Nursery for children born after 09/30/09 is in the childcare wing. For more information, pick up a brochure in the childcare wing or contact Phyllis Swenson, our Sunday Morning Nursery Coordinator, at sundaynursery@viennapres.org.
Families who prefer to begin the morning worshipping together can head straight for the Sanctuary. After the children’s message, children can leave for one of two classes: Bridges to Worship or Gateways to Worship.
‘Bridges’ (4 years through 1st grade at 9:30) is based on a teaching method called Godly Play where children enter the worship space, wonder together as they experience stories from the Bible and then engage in their own creative exploration of what they’ve heard.
‘Gateways’ (2nd through 4th grade at 9:30) helps our slightly older children appreciate the church year and elements of the worship service. Classes are interactive and creatively taught.
We always enjoy talking with parents, so please contact us with any questions or concerns. We look forward to getting to know your children.
