Children's Sunday Morning Programs
Children's Ministries needs you for 2012-13...
- On a weekly basis, it takes roughly 65-70 volunteers to run classes and nursery at all 3 services.
- In total for 2012-13 we will again need 170+ Sunday morning volunteers! We need every family to volunteer in some way. How will you help?
- Here's what you may not realize about volunteering... Materials are prepped in advance and waiting for you in classrooms--you simply read the lesson at home, choose from lesson options you think may work best, and arrive 15-20 minutes prior to your class start time.

Sunday Morning Classes (mid Sep - mid June)
Interactive, age-level classes for 3s and 4s that help our children understand basic Biblical truths through storytelling, puppetry, singing (the Cherub Choir), and a variety of hands-on activities; 9:30 and 11:00 am. 3s in Rm 120, 4s in Rm 118
An interactive program for grades K-4 at 9:30 and 11:00 am that includes child-friendly worship, teaching through drama, small groups for children, and growth in wisdom, faith and friendship.
A gentle worship experience that enables our young children to spend the first portion of worship with their families before leaving the service to engage with Bible stories, songs, and child-friendly liturgical worship elements. Ages 4 - grade 1, at 9:30 am.
A unique, interactive class that enables our 2nd - 4th graders to spend the first portion of worship with their families before leaving the service to explore worship, liturgical elements, Biblical truths, and the church calendar year; 9:30 am.
A class that focuses on pre-teen issues using a new, Biblically-based curriculum with games, discussions, service projects every 4th Sunday of the month, and a variety of other activities. Grades 5/6 at 9:30 am; broken into gender groups, guys in Rm 324, girls in Rm 310.
This class runs when we have children with more severe learning challenges; curriculum is chosen based on current needs. We also work with parents to mainstream children with less severe learning challenges. The next Sacraments class will be offered in 2014. The Sacraments Class covers the Sacraments of Baptism and Communion. It is intended for children in 3rd-6th grades.
Other Sunday Programs
Sunday morning nursery is available for children from 1 month through 2 years old at all Sunday worship services. You'll find our Childcare wing on the 2nd floor, Rooms 207-209. Contact our Sunday Nursery Coordinator, Phyllis Swenson, to find out more about volunteering in our childcare, at sundaynursery@viennapres.org.
Our children's library, the F.R.O.G. Pond, is designed with children in mind: low shelves, lily pad seating, cushions and a pond-theme rug. Stop by on Sunday mornings to visit and check out our variety of resources to support parents and Sunday teachers. Room 314.
All children are welcomed to join the voice choirs any time between September and June. Auditions are not required.
