1 Camp Highroad replaces Meadowkirk. Camp Highroad is located minutes away from
Meadowkirk and offers exciting outdoor activities for our youth.
2 Cost is $35/child if parent volunteers all week; maximum cost per family is $175.
Volunteers Needed for Summer Camps
We need volunteers to help specifically with Creativity Camp and VBS "Kingdom Rock". If you can help in any capacity for VBS please contact our VBS Director, Elaine Wright, at elaine.wright@viennapres.org. All volunteers (including youth 12 and older) must complete a Volunteer Application. Please check with Michelle Lowell at michelle.lowell@viennapres.org if you are not sure if you have completed an application.
General Information
Registrations are now being accepted for 2013 Summer Camps. The schedule is presented above.
- All registration and most release forms, as well as payment of camp fees, are now made online. The only forms that will have to be mailed to the church are Health Forms for Camp Highroad.
- A separate registration is required for each child, for each session he/she is to attend. The forms for each session are different, so be sure to complete and submit the forms for the proper session(s).
- All camps have space limitations, so please register EARLY. Most camps fill up before the registration deadline posted under the camp description.
- Payment must be received with registration to guarantee your child’s spot in the camp.
- Financial assistance, or scholarships, are available; see the Children's Ministries Scholarship Policy and Application Form.
- Camp Refund Policy - We're happy to refund cancellations (minus a $5 administration fee) until the camp registration deadline. As almost all the costs cover equipment and supplies, we're not able to refund any fees after that date. The deadline for each camp can be found in the camp descriptions below. Thanks for your understanding.
- Payment Only. If you have already submitted all required registration and release forms, you may proceed directly to the payment page. This is not for new registrations.
Creativity Camp
Participants will explore stories in the Bible that focus on Jesus’ life on earth and have fun expressing what they’ve learned through music, drama, art projects and creative prayer. Lessons will be Christ-centered and geared towards encouraging children to grow in their faith while they learn. The week will climax with a short program for parents and friends at 11:30 am on Friday.

- THEME: Emmanuel - God With Us (Jesus’ life on earth).

- Each child will receive a camp T-shirt.
- Short program for parents and friends on Friday at 11:30 am.
- A snack will be provided each day.

NEW! Camp Highroad
(in place of Meadowkirk1)
Camp Highroad is a beautiful camp and retreat center located in Middleburg, VA and offers a variety of exciting activities for our campers. Your child will enjoy archery, low ropes, canoeing, creek hikes, survival class, stream studies, swimming (in a pool), hayrides, grass-boarding, Bible studies, and group games. Additionally, rising 5th-7th graders can use the zipline, and rising 6th and 7th graders can try the climbing wall, high ropes, and giant swing.

- June 24-28, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm (8:20 am the first day).
- For rising 4th through rising 7th grade.

- Each child will be provided with a camp T-shirt. Otherwise children should wear/bring clothing appropriate for the activities above.

VBS at VPC ("Kingdom Rock")
Join us on an epic adventure that empowers kids to stand strong! Here, God’s victorious power isn’t a fairy tale—it changes kids forever. Kingdom Rock VBS is designed to meet the needs of children aged 4 - rising 3rd grade. The camp includes: Epic Bible Adventures (drama), Creation Station (hands-on projects), Sing and Play Rock (music), The King’s Kitchen (snacks) and Tournament Games.

- July 8-12, 9:00 am - 12:15 pm.
- For children aged 4 through rising 3rd grade.
- Cost: $50 per child, $175 maximum per family; $35 for each child if a parent volunteers ALL week; the cost includes one sing/play CD per family (partial scholarships are available; see the Scholarship Policy and Application Form, or contact Dawn Geschiere for details at 703-938-9050 x127 or dawn.geschiere@viennapres.org).
- A VBS celebration will be held on Sunday morning at the 11:00 am worship service. (There will NOT be a Friday program.)
- A snack will be provided each day. (Special attention is given to food allergies. Please indicate your child’s food allergies and if you need someone to contact you regarding these allergies).
- Each child will be provided with a camp T-shirt. Otherwise children should wear clothing appropriate for the activities listed above.
- We will have a mini-VBS for 3 year old children for volunteers who work all week, but this year we are asking parents to pay $35 per child to help us defer the activity costs. Childcare is also available for younger children of parents who volunteer, with prior registration at childcare@viennapres.org or 703-938-9050 x351.

Children's Missions Week
This week is for children interested in participating in different realms of service in the area. Opportunities include preparing used glasses to send to people who can’t afford glasses, visiting with senior citizens in retirement homes, spending time at a drop-in shelter for homeless people, and culminating Friday with a STOP HUNGER NOW project assembling thousands of meals for people in crisis around the world. The week also includes opportunities for children to journal about their adventures, to hear from speakers, to play games and to get to know one another as they serve. Friday there will be a chance for parents to hear about what the kids have been doing all week.
- July 22-26, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
- For children rising 4th through rising 7th grade.
- Cost: $110 per child – the increased cost includes the average per person cost to participate in STOP HUNGER NOW (but only covers a portion of the overall cost to host STOP HUNGER NOW) - (partial scholarships are available; see the Scholarship Policy and Application Form, or contact Dawn Geschiere for details at 703-938-9050 x127 or dawn.geschiere@viennapres.org).
- Children should wear clothing which allows them coverage for outside work and freedom of movement as we will be doing a variety of activities each day.
- Please bring a non-perishable bag lunch including a drink each day of camp. (Please note that snacks will NOT be provided at this camp).

Music and Drama Camp
Music and Drama Camp is a fun-filled week for those children in rising 4th-8th grades who have a true passion for Musical Theatre. Participants will learn how to create a set, perform the music, and gain a basic understanding of musical theatre production. It is an intensive week of training culminating in a performance on Friday night to show off their talents. This year we will be performing our own rendition of “Are We There Yet,” the story of Moses leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Our hope is to wow you with what the children have learned.
- July 29-August 2, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm.
- For children rising 4th through rising 8th grades.
- Cost: $85 per child; the cost includes one DVD of the production (partial scholarships are available; see the Scholarship Policy and Application Form, or contact Dawn Geschiere for details at 703-938-9050 x127 or dawn.geschiere@viennapres.org).
- Performance: Friday, August 2, at 7:30 pm.
- All children who want a role in the production must audition. Dates and information will be sent upon receipt of registration.
