The F.R.O.G. Pond
The F.R.O.G. (Fully Rely On God) Pond, aka the Children’s Ministries Library, is designed with children in mind – low shelves, lily pad seating, cushions and a pond-theme rug – and is open to all children and their parents 8:50-12:00pm on Sunday mornings.
Alesia Hambel, our Children’s Librarian, is always on-hand to help with book and video choices for families or teachers. Alesia assists Sunday staff by providing subject-related material. The library can also be used by classes to listen to audio or watch visual resources.
New library carts in the preschool wing and nursery provide easy access to additional library materials. These can be checked out at the carts.
You can now donate a book to The Pond in honor of your child (or grandchild). Just drop by Grapevine Bookstore and choose any children's book. When you go to check out, let them know the book is for donation. They will provide you with a special bookplate you can complete with your details. Then, either leave the book with the bookstore or present it to the library in person. Contact Alesia Hambel with questions.
Our book collection provides for:
- Very Young Children: board books and videos
- Early Elementary: picture books and videos, including Veggie Tales
- Upper Elementary: fiction, including C.S. Lewis, Focus on the Family Christian Heritage Series, Trailblazer books. Videos include feature films for families.
The library is available at other times, on request, by contacting Alesia Hambel at 703-204-1896.
