Labor 4 Your Neighbor
If Jesus were in town,
we think he’d be saying things,
but he’d also be doing things for people.
On Sunday, September 5 after worship we will Send everyone out the doors of our church to serve in various activities throughout our community using their time and talents. We encourage everyone in our church family to participate: families, small groups, Sunday School classes, teens, men, women, young and old.
Why are we doing this? To show God's love in a practical way!
Last year we called this End of Summer Service and the new name is Labor 4 Your Neighbor. What did folks do last year? A family with small children made cards for those who were ill; a food drive was held at the local grocery store to help CHO feed the poor; a group fixed a playground so children could play safely; cookies were baked and delivered to the fire department; backpacks and school supplies were collected for teens; grass was cut for a neighbor who was disabled; trash was picked up on the bike and hike trail to help keep God’s earth clean.
Breaking bread together as a church family
Later in the afternoon, beginning at 4:00 pm, everyone will be invited back to VPC to celebrate with food, fun, and fellowship.
