Beyond Basics
As a Sunday morning class focused on disciple-making, this class strives to build community in the class, in the congregation and in the community through study, prayer, care and service. All are welcome in Room 203-204.
For more information contact Kate Lund at 703-255-7244 or katejlund@yahoo.com.
This class is currently looking at Jesus as Way to God in the Gospel of John. This study reflects on Jesus' teaching of how we are to live fully connected to the power of God through the Holy Spirit and Jesus' demonstration and fulfillment of this power in the last week of his life.
Christianity Explored
A new seven-week class exploring the essentials of the Christian faith, using the book of Mark, will begin February 26 at 9:30. Using a thought-provoking lecture series by Rico Tice on DVD, followed by small group discussion, you will explore three main questions that cut right to the heart of Christianity: Who is Jesus? Why did he come? What is involved in following him? It’s especially designed for new members or newcomers to Christianity.
This class will meet February 26 - April 8, 2012 in the second floor conference room (next to the church offices). There is a cost of $10 (for two books and a study guide).

Growing Together in God's Word!
If you are seeking a warm, open fellowship of believers who enjoy digging into scripture to discover guidance for today, then you will feel right at home in this class. We will begin the class studying “In the Grip of Grace” by Max Lucado—but no preparation is required. We will hike Lucado’s scripture trail together each week and uncover God’s message for each of us. We meet at 9:30 in the Parlor. Come discover friends you haven’t met yet and we’ll grow together. Class facilitated by John and Kathy Draper, 703-539-8300 or jkdraper@ymail.com.
Partners with Christ
"Partners" is an adult Sunday School class open to men and women of all ages and stages of life. Our goal is to strengthen and deepen our relationship with Jesus Christ and with each other by studying His word and sharing what we are learning. Several different teachers facilitate discussion, with curriculum based on the interests of the members and where the Holy Spirit leads the class. We use books, DVDs and other materials, but always in support of our primary focus, the Bible: God’s written word to His people. Newcomers are more than welcome to join in at any time. The class ranges in size from 15 to 40, depending on the Sunday.
Beginning December 4 at 9:30, Partners With Christ will study Westminster Confessions of Faith. The discussion leader is Charles Geschiere. Contact Martha Strauss (see below) for the study guide.
