10″ Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

November and December will be VERY busy months for the Mission Team and the wonderful volunteers who help us serve as the hands and feet of Christ!  Our mission spotlight for this month is our CARES Act partnership.  This will be the 6th food distribution and we are so blessed to be a blessing to over 400 families again this month! Our staff will serve together as we gather on Nov. 21st to distribute over 1,700 lbs. of food, and we’d welcome some of you serving with us by providing food, or helping to sort, pack and distribute the groceries. https://www.signupgenius.com/g…  Our partnership is with Food for Others, and Dustin Lape is our contact.  He serves with Christ in his heart and he will share the work of Food for Others and his wonderful faith journey this Sunday at the Christ and Culture ALC.  https://zoom.us/j/463246442  Dustin gives a preview for his time with us in the video.

While Covid caused mission partner Committee for Helping Others to cancel the annual Christmas Store, families living on the margin will still receive gift cards for the purchase of toys and clothing.  Please support this effort by donating to CHO https://cho-va.com/join-us/don…, , by purchasing $25 gift cards from Walmart or Target and mailing to CHO, P.O. Box 233, Vienna VA 22183, or you may place the cards in the VPC donation box located at the Park Street entrance.

Another program that will be drastically different due to COVID is our beloved Hypothermia Program.  As many as 400 volunteers each year welcome 50 homeless men and women into our church.  We’ve met some wonderful people over the years, and I know many of you, like me,  will miss this experience!  Fairfax County has leased a vacant building to house our friends, and churches are asked to provide food for the weeks they’d normally be with us.  Please join us for a  Zoom meeting on Wednesday, November 18th at 7 PM for a quick briefing on how we’ll support Hypothermia in this very different environment!  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82910479855  We will be brief, but want to provide info for those who wish to continue to serve this community that has been so hard hit by COVID.  Questions:  susan.kenney@viennapres.org or sue.hamblen@viennapres.org

Our events may look a bit different this year, but we still have a tremendous opportunity to share the love of Christ through our deeds of love and service!
