Kristina Schenck
Interim Contemporary and Youth Worship Leader
Kristina’s life-long dream, since childhood, was to serve as a choir director and she considers herself doubly blessed to be called to fulfill that passion both here at VPC and as the Director of Choirs at Manassas Park High School (since 2001). Although she has been teaching high school for twenty-two years she considers herself an educator for over thirty years. At the age of thirteen, she was asked to take over a volunteer position at her small hometown church as the children’s choir director. She has fond memories of sitting at the piano with a group of 5-9 year old children circled around, and is so grateful that her journey began in the church at such a young age.
Kristina is originally from New Jersey where she received her Bachelor of Music Education in 2001, as a vocal major, from The College of New Jersey. In 2007 she received her Master in Music Education from Boston University. Kristina and her family (husband Michael, two children, and four cats!) have been worshipping at VPC (well…the humans…not the cats!) since 2005. She has been a member of the music staff since 2014 serving in different capacities such as the Sanctuary Choir accompanist, church organist, worship leader, and now as the Contemporary and Youth Worship Leader working with both the worship band and leading the Youth Choir. In her “spare” time you can find Kristina accompanying the Manassas Chorale and writing and performing original music as a member of the independent Christian worship duo Keyed-In 2 Christ.
Kristina loves Jesus and music and is excited to help others to grow in their faith and get to know and love Jesus through the vehicle of music.
