The Dementia Care Ministry (DCM) of Vienna Presbyterian Church is designed to provide a warm and welcoming space for members of our community living with dementia along with support and encouragement for family caregivers.
At present, the primary ministry activity is a Gathering held monthly from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm for those living with dementia and their caregivers. The first hour involves a time of group fellowship (music, fun and games), followed in the second hour by a light lunch with caregivers breaking out for a support group meeting while loved ones participate in volunteer-led stimulating activities and conversation in a safe and comfortable environment.
In addition to providing caring and mutual support for one another during the caregiver support group, we provide information about various other resources and services in the community that may be of interest to caregivers and their loved ones. See the link on this page for a resource list.
2024 Gatherings are scheduled for 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on the second Monday of each month through June as follows: February 12, March 11, April 8, May 13, and June 10.
