Join a Discipleship Group
Classes
Come as you are any week to these mid-sized groups where you can meet a variety of people and grow as a follower of Christ. Classes predominantly happen on Sunday mornings and some happen midweek. Teaching series range from a handful of weeks to a few months.
Small Groups
Make new friends as you learn to live your faith with a small group of people. Committing to gather for Bible study and prayer creates a place to care for each other’s life experiences as you grow in Christ. New groups form in the fall, new year, and spring. Some groups meet on a short-term basis, and others are ongoing.

The Way of Jesus
10:30-11:30 AM
New Group Starts on February 22
Curious about what it really means to follow Jesus? Whether you’re new to faith, just beginning to explore Christianity, or seeking clarity about what it means to be a Christian, The Way of Jesus is for you. This 8-week group is designed to help you discuss the core beliefs and big questions of the Christian faith: Who is Jesus? What does redemption mean? How does the Holy Spirit work in our lives? Why does the Church matter? Why do you matter to God? In a welcoming, judgment-free environment, you’ll engage with the Bible, ask honest questions, and learn how faith in Jesus leads to a life of hope and purpose. If you’re ready to take the first step—or the next one—in your faith journey, join us for The Way of Jesus.
Practicing the Way: Prayer
10:30-11:30 AM
New Group Starts on February 22
Building on the spiritual practices explored in Practicing the Way, this group will deepen your experience with the ancient and essential practice of prayer. Prayer teaches us to be with God, become like him, and partner with him in the world. This four-part series will help you establish a daily prayer rhythm, pray with honesty, learn to hear his voice, and rest in loving presence with him. Join a community of people who are learning and practicing together as we grow in intimacy with God.

What’s up young adults! Pastor Adrian would like to invite you to our young adult group. My prayer and hope are that this group will provide space for us to walk alongside one another as we discover who we are in Christ and learn who God is calling us to be as we navigate this new season of adulthood. With the love and grace of God, we will support one another. So, join us any week this winter, as we get into a study of the book of Romans by J.D. Greear.

Make friends at church and get some great advice for your parenting journey while your kids and teens enjoy their own community with the programs happening for them on Sundays at 10:30. Each week is a stand-alone discussion, so drop in anytime you can make it. This winter, parents of all stages are invited to join us as we walk through Dave and Ann Wilson’s No Perfect Parents video-discussion series.
Apprentices Class

Over eight sessions, you’ll discover practical, life-giving ways to integrate spiritual practices—like prayer, Bible study, and serving—into the rhythm of your daily life. Let’s be honest: our spiritual lives can start to feel stale or get disrupted by life’s changes. This course is designed to help you take the next step, whether you’re just beginning, feeling stalled, or looking for a fresh approach to connect with God. Join us on this transformative journey and rediscover the joy of following Jesus in a way that fits your life.

Thursdays Online, 7:00-8:00 PM, Bi-weekly
Starts on February 19
Building on the spiritual practices explored in Practicing the Way, this group will deepen your experience with the ancient discipline of fasting. It is one of the most essential and powerful of all the practices of Jesus and, arguably, the single most neglected one in the modern, Western church. This four-part series will train you to integrate your whole body into life with God. Join a community of people who are trying it with you and will encourage you in your goals for spiritual growth.
Monday Night Men’s Group
Mondays, 7:00-8:30 PM at VPC and Online
We are guys of all ages coming together to study, grow, share, and care for one another and serve the community in which we live. We meet on Monday evenings to hear testimonies and teaching in a large group setting, then break into small groups for discussion and prayer. Pizza and popcorn are served for dinner each week so you can come straight from work if you need to. There is no homework, and you can join any week.
The group features teaching series from both Pastor Robert Austell and VPC’s Theologian-in-Residence, David Renwick. From January 26 through late February, Pastor Robert will continue to teach “Key Words in the Word: Exploring the Language of God’s Story.” This powerful study of a dozen foundational Old and New Testament terms like shalom, hallelujah, and amen will bring fresh insight to how the rich meaning of these words speak to your journey with Christ.
Monday Night Women’s Bible Study

At the Women’s Bible Studies, you’ll find a supportive and encouraging group of women of all ages ready to get to know you as they get to know the Bible. There is no homework, and you can join any week. VPC’s Director of Adult Discipleship, Kim Pattianakotta, along with team teachers, Currie Renwick, and Meghan Reeves, develop lessons with a rich combination of theological insight, historical context, and practical examples for living our faith. Each session begins with fellowship and a large group teaching, then breaks into small group discussion to further develop relationships and share insights.
