Holy Week is the last week of Lent, and the week leading up to Easter, when we observe various historically significant events that occurred during the last week of Jesus’ life and ministry. Holy Week begins on Palm Sunday and ends on Holy Saturday, the day before Easter, and includes Maundy Thursday and Good Friday. Here at VPC we have opportunities for you to engage with Holy Week as we prepare for Easter. This is also a great time to invite someone new to church. We can’t wait to see you!

Holy Week Devotional
Our upcoming Holy Week devotional, Who Do You Say I Am?, invites you to reflect on who Jesus is in your life today. Copies will be available for pickup at VPC or for download online beginning March 22. The devotional is designed for use during Holy Week, March 29–April 5.

Holy Week Boxes
Beginning March 22, families are invited to pick up a Holy Week Box in the church lobby. Each box is designed to help families journey together through Holy Week at home. Inside, you’ll find cards with a short scripture passage to read as a family and simple instructions for interacting with the box. Each side of the box reveals a different scene from Holy Week, helping bring the story to life as you move from Palm Sunday to Easter morning. We hope this hands-on experience creates meaningful moments of reflection, conversation, and wonder for the whole family.

Maundy Thursday Service – Thursday, April 2, 7:00 pm, Fellowship Hall

Maundy Thursday Communion will be a special service of music, prayer, communion, and Scripture around Jesus’ final “love command.” We will reflect on the events of Jesus’ last night before crucifixion.

Good Friday Service – Friday, April 3, 7:00 pm, Sanctuary

The Good Friday service will include Scripture, prayer, music, silence, and artwork reflecting on Jesus’ final hours during the Crucifixion.

Easter Sunday Services – April 5, 8:00 am, 9:30 am and 11:00 am, Sanctuary

We will have celebratory worship at 8:00 am (contemporary), 9:30 am (VPC Kids Easter), and 11:00 am (traditional) in the Sanctuary. Childcare will be available at all three services. Adult Sunday morning programming is cancelled. Everyone is welcome to all services. Following the 11:00 am service, will be a casual, catered brunch for a time of fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.
