Rev. Adrian Rodriguez
Associate Pastor for Outreach
Since childhood the Christian community has been an integral part of Adrian’s life. His mom often required him and his younger siblings to attend church whenever the church was open. Now whether he desired to be a regular participant in the church community is a different story. His mother’s faith was the cornerstone of faith in their home, and she drug them to church every chance she could. Being a follower of Christ and in community with other believers was meaningful to her and gradually it became important to Adrian.
Adrian was born in Puerto Rico as the eldest of three children and grew up as an Army brat with stops in Germany, Kansas, and finally Texas. At the age of 14, his family relocated to Texas, and he made a personal profession of faith and accepted Christ into his life. As a teenager he developed a passion for youth ministry. He continue to enjoy sharing Christ’s love and faithfulness with others, and by the God’s grace, he served in youth ministry for 12 years. He has worked with Young Life, and has also served as the Director of Youth Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Arlington, Texas.
He is a graduate of The University of Texas at Arlington where he earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Urban Planning and Minority Studies with a minor in Spanish, and a recent graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary where he earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv) degree with a concentration in Leadership in Times of Change.
Adrian is married to his high school sweetheart, Alecia, and they have two daughters, Aileigh, and Addileigh. Since they all have names that start with an A, they are known as the A-Rods. Adrian loves spending time with his family, watching sports (Fly Eagles Fly), and creating lasting memories with his wife and girls. They definitely keep him on his toes, but he loves every minute of it!
As the Associate Pastor for Outreach, you will find out that he is extremely relational, and loving people with the love of Christ is who he is. This is who God created him to be and he can’t wait to build relationships with his new friends at VPC.
