What’s a tailgate? A social gathering typically held around the open tailgate of a vehicle, often before sports events, where people enjoy food, drinks, and camaraderie.
Show your team spirit and join us for a fun-filled morning of connection, community, and classic tailgate fun! Bring a friend, wear your favorite team gear, and enjoy delicious food, music, games, and more. We can’t wait to see you there! If you are interested in hosting a tailgate, this would involve parking your vehicle within the parking lot prior to worship until the end of the event, decorating your vehicle with your favorite sporting team paraphernalia and providing snacks for guests. Who is being invited to provide food? Anyone can sign up to provide food, but we welcome everyone to attend the combined worship service at 9:00 am and then join us afterwards for fellowship and food. If you would like to provide food, please sign up here for planning purposes.
Do you have to bring food to participate? No, we welcome everyone to attend so plan to attend after worship.
If I signed up to host a tailgate, when do I need to setup and prepare food? Please arrive between 7:30 am – 8:30 am to park your vehicle and setup your tailgate area. Be ready to serve food 10:15 am, as church members leave worship.
Will the parking lot be blocked off? Yes, but the small parking lot by Mill Street will be open for those with mobility needs. We will have parking volunteers to help direct traffic. For those being picked up and/or dropped off, you will need to access VPC via Mill Street. We encourage you to park at the Vienna Family Medicine Parking garage to prioritize those with mobility needs can park. Here is parking map:

What should I expect at the event? There will be a DJ with music, games for kids, information about mission opportunities, a variety of decorated tailgating cars with food, a grill station with burgers and hotdogs, and coffee and beverage stations.
What should I wear to the Tailgate? Feel welcome to attend worship wearing any sports attire or represent your alma mater, favorite sports team, local house league, or elementary, middle, or high school. Come as you are and show your spirit!
