CASKET EMPTY® is a memorable acronym that explains the storyline of the Bible. It is a life-changing overview of scripture that will deepen your understanding of the biblical narrative and show you how the Bible is one redemptive story with Jesus at the center. After this conference, you will be able to articulate what’s in the Bible and how all the individual stories fit together as one big story. You’ll gain new insight into historical contexts and you’ll see how that history connects with your purpose as a child of God in the present. This is an opportunity to better understand the meaning of the Bible and it’s meaning for your life.
In October 2023, the creator of CASKET EMPTY, Dr. Carol Kaminski, taught the Old Testament part of the acronym, CASKET. In March 2024, we’ll learn the New Testament part, EMPTY, from Rev. Dr. David Palmer. Imagine a room full of welcoming people, the smell of good food, a lively and interesting speaker, and brothers and sisters in Christ surrounding you. We will enjoy teaching sessions interspersed with round table discussion and breaks, meals, and fellowship with one another. All are welcome –Vienna Presbyterian Church gladly welcomes anyone who would like to participate with this memorable learning experience!
There are two conference options. If you cannot attend the full conference on Friday night and Saturday, you can attend the Friday night portion which will introduce the sections of the Biblical narrative through the CASKET EMPTY acronym. The Saturday sessions will dig deeper into CASKET EMPTY concepts.
Cost Per Ticket:
Ticket includes all conference materials and meals. Dinner will be served on Friday. Saturday meals include breakfast, lunch, and snacks. We will make vegetarian and allergy friendly options available (for common allergies.) Contact us if you are concerned about your food restriction.
Following the discipleship weekends in October and March, we will launch a series of small group studies for you to find a community of believers with which you can continue exploring God’s plan of redemption through history. These studies will happen in four parts, with four entry points. In the Old Testament Bible studies happening this fall and winter, you will learn the storyline of the Old Testament from Genesis to Malachi. The New Testament studies happening in the spring will focus on the storyline of the Gospel of Matthew to Revelation. Get ready to experience a life-changing understanding of scripture, as you come to see the Bible as one redemptive story with Jesus at the center!
